The Wolf Moon Meander

Well, here it is yet another new year. It used to be that it seemed like a long time between years, but I guess it's just gonna keep getting faster and faster.

I'm starting in advance looking for people to lead the July and October Meanders, since I probably won't be able to. Reserve early -- everybody wants to lead Meanders. Really. No, I mean it.

While we're predicting the future, I'll note that the 2004 meanders will probably be: January 3rd, February 7th, Marcgh 6th, April 3rd, May 1st, June 5th, July 3rd, July 31st, August 28th, Spetember 25th, October 30th, November 27th, and December 25th. I can already see that there will be some conflicts with things like, say, Christmas, so I'm in the midst of developing sophisticated situational analysis and modeling software to help come up with alternatives.

And since I'm on a factual predictive writing kick here, I present my New Year's Resolutions:

  • I will eschew expediting the eschaton.
  • I will attempt to answer email in a timely fashion.
  • I will think of time in a geological sense.
  • I will verb nouns only when obligated.
  • I will fight the unnecessary gerunding of English.
